These are cut across the grain of the hide, making them ideal for winding around a hook shank The hair flairs off the hide at an angle and will lay to the rear of the hook, creating a somewhat more streamlined form.

This is the body material for the Bonito Bunny flies that are a Saltwater Edge favorite for bonito and false albacore.
