Description
D-Contactis a heavy sinking minnow that uses inertial sliding to catch fish.
This heavy sinking minnow revolutionized mountain stream lure fishing. The D-CONTACT is a minnow that realizes an “inertial slide” action, truly igniting the heavy sinking minnow craze.
The “D” in this minnow stands for the incredible “distance power,” “deep power,” and “direction power” that its ultra-thin body design delivers, despite the built-in tungsten weight with a specific gravity of 18, weighing in at 4.5g for the 50mm, 7g for the 63mm, and 9.5g for the 72mm.
While it sparked the popularity of heavy sinking minnows, its high level of perfection remains unmatched, and its popularity continues to this day.
D-CONTACT’s features and potential |
1.Inertial slide transitioning to the slow speed range
This is a world not found in conventional floating or sinking minnows. Conventional minnows repeat a cycle of movement, stop, movement, and stop with twitches. When stopped, the lure tries to regain its balance using buoyancy (even sinking lures have buoyancy that helps them regain their balance), preventing it from moving forward and resulting in it stopping. Due to its own weight, the D-CONTACT twists and moves forward while trying to regain its balance due to the law of inertia. This is the inertial slide. It then transitions to the slow speed range.
In this continuous cycle of movement, inertial slide, movement, and inertial slide, fish are attracted by the movement and recognize the transition from the slower, yet still moving, inertial slide to the slow speed range as a bite opportunity. This is similar to the way birds and animals catch their prey.
2.It won’t jump out even with a cross or down twitch
. When fishing upstream, down-cross or downcasts are used less than 10% of the time, but there are always a few spots where they’re necessary. The D-CONTACT was developed as a minnow for fishing, with frequent upstream casting, and the ability to create a fluttering, darting, and wriggling sliding action with twitching. However, a minnow that focuses solely on upstream casting will lack real field appeal. While sinking minnows have weaknesses when twitching, the D-CONTACT maintains its potential whether you’re fishing upriver, across, or downriver. There’s no need to switch to a floating lure when casting downriver.
3.Range Control:
Because it has a considerable weight, it has a fast falling speed and can be used in deep waters. It can be used at various ranges depending on the retrieve, the interval between twitches, and the position of the rod tip.
4. The50mm
, 63mm, and 72mm types all have a fixed center of gravity slightly to the rear, which means they can cast farther than conventional lures without wobbling. When you’re in a headwind, you’ll appreciate the added weight.
5.Creating appealing products
The thin body and V-shaped design make the target fish aware of a big change in their behavior with even the slightest
flutter or roll. When the target fish looks at the D-CONTACT from below, it appears thin, slender, and fragile, but when it flutters or rolls, its shape changes dramatically, making the fish aware of the change.
b. Different Reflected Light:
Different holograms are attached to the mask and body to enhance their presence in the water. The coloring also considers both naturalness and attractors, making this a lineup that prioritizes practicality. For example, the reflective efficiency in water differs between TS and TS Laser. The same is true for Yamame and Yamame Laser.
c. Black ring and hook specifications that enhance the lure’s brilliance
. Everything except the body is finished in a neutral black. The hook is a Kaken specification that ensures a clean piercing.
