Umpqua AK’s March Brown Fly 12 (11098)

Description

The first pattern I ever tied! I lived in Michigan at the time and was told there was a March Brown hatch happening. I went to a gas station and bought a half dozen March Browns. They were BROWN with fuzzy dubbed bodies. When I got to the stream I discovered the naturals’ bodies were TAN and shiny! The wings on the naturals were Medium Gray. So I began tying my March Browns with a Dyed tan wild turkey biot with dun wings. It’s my go to early season fly.
